How to Ease Anxiety & Chill Out | Tips & Tricks

I’ve never talked about mental health on my blog, but as I start to incorporate more wellness content, I realize it’s one of the most important topics to cover. It’s something people really don’t talk about enough, and I’m not sure why. Anxiety is more common than you know, and I think it’s safe to say that a lot of us have experienced heightened anxiety since the whole pandemic started. The unknown is a scary thing. So for today’s post, I wanted to share my tips & tricks on how to ease anxiety. Things and practices I’ve found that truly do help ease my anxiety, and hopefully will help you!

Listen to a morning meditation focused on positivity

You don’t have to do a 20 minute meditation or anything super lengthy. I found this meditation recently, and it’s only 5 minutes long. That might not seem like a lot but I really love it, and found it puts me in a positive mood to start the day. I’ll do my current morning routine (below), and then listen to a meditation before I get started with my day. It’s a simple habit that’ll really improve your mood, trust me. There’s a reason why the most successful people in the world swear by meditation.

Create a solid morning routine

Creating a solid morning routine has changed my life. It adds structure to my day, which really helps eliminate anxious thoughts for me, personally. And it’s focused on self-reflection and setting my day up for success. Here’s what my current morning routine looks like:

_______________________________

– Make a coffee

– Read my Daily Stoic for the day & reflect after – I have a dedicated journal for this and I just simply reflect on the day’s reading and write out my thoughts

Write out at least 3 things I’m grateful for, followed by a law of attraction practice (I can dive deeper into this in another post, but basically here’s what it is): Write out 5 goals in the present tense – “I am so happy now that I have…” – it’s basically a way to trick your brain into thinking you already have what it is that you want. Sounds funky but I swear manifestation is real y’all.

– Have a green juice & wellness shot & vitamins

Get outside, go for a walk

It’s the little things in life, right? Seriously, just get outside and go for a walk. Get some fresh air & clear your mind. Simple as that.

Have a hobby or activity to release your energy

A lot of the times anxious thoughts or feelings can be triggered by having a lot of “pent up” energy. You need some sort of hobby or activity that will help get your mind off things, but also take that energy and put it into something fun for yourself. A few activities I’ve been loving as of late are: creating fun things in photoshop/graphic design, yoga, & drawing in my sketchbook.

I hope that this post helps you out! Maybe you’ll pick up a new healthy habit or two. I will definitely doing more lifestyle & wellness content on the blog, so stay tuned!

XO, Gigi
