How To Successfully Start The Semester

It’s the new year and for many of us, that means a new semester. Whether you’re in college or not, this post is for anyone that needs some direction on successfully starting something. New year, new job, new semester, whatever it may be, I’m here to give you some ideas.

1. Buy a new planner

The first thing I want to talk about is planners. A planner is essential in everyone’s life, seriously. I always start the new year by buying a new planner and writing down important dates for each month. My favorite types of planners are ones that have a spot for you to write things down every day. This is one thing that will definitely keep you on track. At the end of each day I’ll check off things I’ve done and if I still need to complete something I’ll write it down for the next day.

2. Have a personal planner

This was by far the best purchase I’ve made so far this year. I went online and personalized my own planner. It’s important to keep this one completely separate from school. So far, I’ve used this to plan out blog posts, write down my goals for the year, and just jot down any ideas that I have. Click HERE if you’re interested in the one I have. You can also personalize anything on Zazzle.

3. Use a variety of notebooks

Once school starts I always go to the bookstore and buy a bunch of different colored notebooks. I’ll use certain ones for each subject. I find this helps keep me organized and on track with my different classes. Check out some of the notebooks I would purchase at the end of this article!

4. Stay hydrated & healthy

This one may seem obvious, but I figured I’d stress it because it’s honestly so important. I can’t live without my 32 oz. water bottle. It’s the only reason I stay hydrated throughout the day, I carry it with me everywhere I go. Aside from water, I always stock up on healthy snacks for the week. When you have a busy schedule and you’re in between classes, sometimes you don’t have time for a full meal. I like to go to the premade food section of my grocery store and stock up on things like carrots, pretzels with hummus, and apples with peanut butter. These are perfect to throw in your bag before the school day.
